October 2013 Safeguarding & Protecting Children (SPC) and Safeguarding Young Cricketers (SYC) The new Coach Education Programme sees a few changes to the Safeguarding & Protecting Children courses: Existing Coaches who need to renew their safeguarding training will be able to do so by completing a Safeguarding Young Cricketers' (SYC) e-module and assessment. These Coaches will first need to register via the Cheshire Cricket Board website using a booking form specifically intended for existing coaches renewing safeguarding training via this Safeguarding Young Cricketers' (SYC) e-module. These booking forms will be available periodically on this website. Once registered these existing Coaches will be sent a username and password to access and complete the e-module and receive an assessment.
Existing or New Volunteers (e.g. Club Welfare Officer) Existing volunteers due for SPC training renewal, or new volunteers who are not coaches and who require SPC training will need to attend a Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children (SPC) course.
These courses will be held after Christmas, and will be advertised on this website.
June 2013 Coach Ed Courses Following an extensive review of the courses that sit below the Performance and Elite player environments, September 2013 sees the introduction the new Community Coach Education courses to help equip coaches to work more effectively with players of differing ages and abilities.
